Since opening its doors in March 2018, Point Place Casino has provided Bridgeport residents and surrounding communities a new destination for entertainment and dining.
Oneida Indian Nation Homelands (February 27, 2020)—The Oneida Indian Nation announced today that Point Place Casino will celebrate its two-year anniversary in March, with a month of fun activities and events for guests, including a cupcake and tote bag giveaway on Sunday, March 15, from 1 to 5 pm.
Located in the town of Bridgeport, Point Place Casino features a recently updated and expansive gaming floor, and a collection of contemporary dining options that have proven to be a hit with visitors. In 2019, in response to overwhelming guest demand, Point Place Casino completed an ambitious expansion that began with the opening of its state-of-the-art sports book, The Lounge with Caesars Sports. It then expanded its gaming floor with nearly 100 new slot machines, added a table game dealer school and constructed a new wing for its administrative offices.
Since its opening, Point Place Casino has become a major magnet for employment and economic growth in Bridgeport. In keeping with the Oneida Indian Nation’s record of investment in Central New York, Point Place Casino has gone on to generate significant public revenues for the region and create hundreds of local jobs.
Point Place Casino has also become a valued member of the Bridgeport community, participating in the town’s annual Christmas tree lighting and hosting an annual fireworks display for the public.
“Our vision for Point Place Casino was to create a property that would be embraced by both the local community and visitors from around the region,” said Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Turning Stone Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter. “Two years later, we are proud to say that we have exceeded our own expectations. The support we have received from the Bridgeport community has been instrumental to our success. And we are grateful to our employees, whose collective dedication and enthusiasm truly make this such a dynamic place for our guests to visit.”
“Point Place Casino has been a wonderful neighbor and a great addition to the local community,” said Cary Blanding, owner of Blanding Hardware in Bridgeport. “They’ve brought a lot of energy to the area, and we look forward to many years of working with them to make Bridgeport a destination worth visiting.”
Dave and Ann Benton, owners of Hall Island Distillery in Cicero noted, “As a local company, we really appreciate being able to work with Point Place Casino. They’ve been terrific partners who have helped us promote our products. It’s clear, from working with them, that Point Place Casino and the Oneida Indian Nation are truly committed to supporting businesses and vendors from the area.”
“From the beginning, the Oneida Indian Nation has been a true partner with us and the entire community, and have proven time and again that they are invested in the success of our area,” said Chairman of the Bridgeport-Lakeport Civic Organization Terry Manning. “The addition of Point Place Casino has reinvigorated our community and brings new people to our area, whether from across Oneida Lake, or right down the road from Cicero.”
Point Place Casino has more than 120 employees who have been working at the property since the first day. Read what some of them had to say HERE.
